Why German companies need to step up their lobbying work in the US

New York, Brussels, Washington A rooftop terrace in Washington, the view is spectacular, with the congress dome shining on the left and the Washington Monument rising into the sky on the right. The “German American Business Council” invited to network, the organization has maintained transatlantic business relations for almost 20 years on behalf of the German Embassy in the United States.

Company representatives chat with diplomats and journalists over appetizers and white wine, business cards are exchanged. A handshake and an American “keep in touch” seal the new contacts.

Events like this happen every day in the US capital, but this year the mood is particularly good – at least among investors with US locations. Billions in US government grants from Joe Biden are having an effect, and the US is more attractive than ever to foreign business.
