Kelowna
More than 50 people have been injured in a bus accident in western Canada. The accident happened in the province of British Columbia near the city of Kelowna, David Eby, the province’s premier, wrote on Twitter Saturday evening. 53 people were transported to three hospitals, Canadian media reported.
“Our thoughts are with those affected, their families, first responders and healthcare workers who are giving their all,” Eby wrote on Twitter. It was not immediately clear what caused the accident. Authorities in the province had previously warned of freezing rain and flooding of roads due to ice-clogged sewers. Drivers are urged to consider alternative travel plans, he said on Saturday.
